I used to have a straight hair until the age of 12, now its all kinky & dry, will it grow straig

That could be due to many things, more then likely your useing the wrong products for your hair type, its a crisis in this country :P with 100 differnt kinds, its easy to get lost, if you want a smoother affect you need to use a surum that helps get rid of friz, THe BESTEST one ive used is called "super skinney serum" and its made by paul mitchell. It knocks all friz out of your hair (not natural wave but friz) i think this product absolutely rocks! its about 15 bucks and ive had my bottle for 6 months and only used half of it, my friends daughter is mixed and i used it on her "crunchy hair" and it was baby soft, her hair was course like a black persons but products for black ppl were to heavy for her hair, anyways her mom uses this stuff on her all the time now... but if you dont want to spend that kind of money there are many serums in the hair isle for anti friz pantine has one i believe and so does garneir frutis im sure others do to.... but it sounds like you also need a better conditioner, try one for dry hair and see what that does for you. If nothing else ask a stylist who can feel and touch your hair what she would reccomend.... You might need a treatment or two on your hair, lord knows us women abuse our hair all the time with pers, colorings, irons, blowdrying and the list can go on, you might just need a healthy trim, but try one of those and see where it gets you :) i hope that helps

Supposedly the texture of a woman's hair can change about 7 times in the course of her lifetime. My hair started waving at about age 22. I'm 31 now and it's still wavy. I just go with it. You may need to go to a salon and talk to a hair stylist about what hairstyle and products you should use with your new texture. They can probably also help you invent a "cocktail" of products to soften up the brittleness. Good luck!
