How do you make straight hair into a frow???
Get your hair wet, then take small sections and wrap them around bobby pins, all the way to your scalp, and secure them. Do this until all your hair is pinned up. Wait until it's dry- this usually requires waiting overnight- and then undo the bobby pins. You have very tight corkscrew curls. Brush them out, and there you are! You have a fro! But keep in mind, that since you are curling the hair, then brushing it, it's going to be A LOT shorter than it originally was.

I would say lots of teasing though I would be scared I would never be able to brush my hair again

Have someone braid it into cornrows (like black people do their hair) get it wet and let it dry completely, then take the braids out and it will be as close to an afro as a non-black person can get. I am a white girl and I had my hair braided into cornrows when I was in Jamaica and I left it in for a few days until my scalp started to hurt (they do it REALLY tight!). When I took the braids down, my hair was HUGE!!!!!

*STEPS*
1. Start with wet hair if possible. Comb hair up and out so it gets body.
2. Depending on the thickness of your hair, part it into at least four sections using a large-toothed comb.
3. Braid each section and secure with a no-snag elastic hairband.
4. Sleep in the braids overnight to get the best look.
5. Unbraid your hair when you get up in the morning. Bend over and tousle your hair with your fingers.
6. Divide each of the four sections into four individual sections with a rat-toothed comb. Do this one section at a time.
7. With each of the four "mini" sections, backcomb your hair gently until you achieve your desired Afro, or at least wavy hair.
*TIPS*
* If your braid is more than a half inch thick, you need to section off your hair in smaller widths.
* If you want the "cornrow look," you need to section off your hair into smaller sections and French braid them.
* If you choose to use products, try to use natural ones that won't damage your hair.
* Make sure hair completely dries before taking out braids.
